Lawyers in Paralimni – Review – Cyprus Driving issues

It’s that time of year for car drivers to take their cash out of their pockets once again. Its time nearly time to renew your car tax and we like to remind you every year so that hefty fines can be avoided.

The police are now looking out for unroadworthy cars not just for tax dodgers.  Many car drivers may not be a ware that if you do not hold an MOT certificate then your tax and insurance is void.  You can not beat the system you must have all three certificates to be legal to drive on the roads.

This is your MOT, TAX and Insurance. Without one you can’t have the other.  Even if you have a long tax certificate but your MOT has expired or soon too expire you are not insured.  It is a continuous circle.

And have no doubt the police are on the case for tax and MOT dodgers it is a form of revenue for the state so of course they will be out in force.

So do not delay this year in renewing all your certificates and drive legally. It is hard times for everybody but by taking a small amount of cash out your pockets to be legal could save you a high amount of cash from your pockets for being illegal.

It is also coming up to Christmas and the Christmas spirit is staring to kick in so we urge all residents to leave the car keys at home this year and do not drink and drive.  This is the time of year when many accidents and deaths occur due to drink driving.  Do not risk it the drinking limit is lower than ever before and the laws are a lot stricter and rightly so!

Legal Firm in Cyprus – Analyzes – New Technology – Completed 11th May 2011.

Talk about Cyprus development, technology here is really sprucing up!

Now you can find outdoor electronic information stands or kiosks if you like to call them.

These information kiosks offer …wait for it a 32″ touch screen allowing tourists to find out all the necessary information they may need about the island making their holiday a lot easier.

Tourists can find out information on bus schedules and maps just for example and the electronic kiosks offer this service in many different languages. How cool are we!

Primarily the Electronic information kiosks have only been situated around Larnaca busy tourists areas. We feel these are excellent tools for tourists and will take off in a big way and hopefully more will be seen in other tourist’s towns on the island.

This really is a step forward and to be fair sometimes it can be very scary for newcomers to the island especially with the language barrier.

We are also set to go digital. Yes people we are certainly stepping up to the technology era. The new digital TV means many more channels for the TV lovers out there!

The only aspect we are not so quite forward with is the internet. Cypriots like things easy and straight forward and very laid back so the internet and accompanying gadgets are still lagging behind. It was even recently reported that 70% of the Cypriot population are still very behind when it comes to the internet but all in good time as with everything else here we will get there eventually.

Great news about the Electronic Information Kiosks and the digital TV lets see more technical progression.

Paralimni Property Lawyers – review – Libya’s unrest – Completed on 27th April 2011.

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi is still not steeping down from his position in power even though NATO planes bombed a military house reportedly killing his son and grand children. Gaddafi escaped unscathed.

What kind of man is this? His Libyan ruling is more important than the death of his family. No wonder the Libyan people have gone to war if this is the kind of person that has ruled their lands.

What is going through Gaddafis’ head to want to make him stand so firm in the fight for his power at the cost of the death of his family….absolute madness!

The fighting is not easing and many areas are now war ridden and abandoned. Many refugees have fled to Tunisia or are fleeing to the border in order to get to other European Countries for safety.

It is not just the fighting that is making these refugees flee, it is the lack of everyday provisions that are forcing them out also.

Anti Gaddafi forces are awaiting funding from Western countries to help then fight against Gaddafi.

Except pro Gaddafi military everybody wants this man to step down. Even when the war is over this man has lost respect from the whole of the Libyan people and the world. The only thing he has left to lose now is his life!

Gaddafi himself has not been seen and said to be in hiding while many are losing their lives for him and against him. And this man calls himself a leader.

This is a prime example of how the oppressed public are also willing to go. And the Libyan situation is a very big lesson to those leaders who see the early signs of trouble brewing but choose to ignore it.

And this all boils down to the lack of freedom of speech, religion, political views and the root of all evil … money! The world is a very sad story at the moment.

Cyprus Legal Consultants – Review – Orlando Holiday Destination – Completed on 1st April 2011

Orlando Florida is such a fantastic family holiday. It is a complete dream come true for children.

First of all let me explain about the restaurants in Orlando. In most restaurants they offer all you can eat. From Chinese, pizza, steak and Kentucky style chicken, the food is out of this world and beyond value for money.

The restaurant that sticks out the most in my mind is the golden chorale. It is $7.99 for all you can eat and they offer quite ordinary food like mash potatoes, chicken, vegetables but the food was wonderful along with their range of desserts. The Chinese restaurants are also an experience. The food on a whole is excellent.

Being a very lucky person and having a family member who is in a managerial position at Disney world we of course take advantage of that. I actually do not know where to start with Disney world there is so much to tell you. The theme park is gigantic and you have to travel by tram type vehicles to get to where you are going. You can buy a park hopper for $90.00 which means you can see all the different parks in one day.

We stared at Animal kingdom of which I really enjoyed and then we moved on to the magic kingdom and wow what an experience, my daughter was in her element with her eyes popping out of her head. There are many rides in the magic kingdom and the Disney characters are spread around the park which is so exciting for the kids. We then went on to MGM Studios which is also a great experience. And in the evening we did the Universal walk.

I have to admit Disney World can be quite tiring but the best part I feel of visiting Disney World was having breakfast with the Disney characters. It is very special as every single Disney character is there and they sing and dance around the tables. I can not describe the feeling it gave me to see my daughter so happy and excited. The breakfast ended by the Disney characters giving my daughter a signed photo of themselves it was utterly amazing.

There are many attractions in Orlando and it is a definite must for families.

The weather is very hot and humid but the rain does come on most days and clears the air which is really nice.

The property in Orlando does not leave a lot to be desired. For the prices we pay in the UK and Cyprus you can buy double the house in Orlando. There is so much more house they seem like mansions compared to what we can buy for the same money.

Shopping is for clothes and trainers for example is so cheap and value for money we couldn’t believe it. However, keep in mind what you see on the price tag adds up to more at the till as tax is added on as you pay.

There is so much to tell you about Orlando Florida I wish I had all day, all I can say is it is a child’s paradise they will never forget their trip to Orlando Florida and Disney World especially.

Property lawyers in Paralimni – Review – Cyprus Property market

The Cyprus property Market for 2010 is definitely up from sales made last year, but it is still going to be some time before we can relax!

This month has seen significant fewer sales than the same time last year which unfortunately has effected the years overall total figures, so we hope the last quarter will bring in more sales to keep the percentage of sales doubled from last years figures.

Nicosia and Limassol are still favourite with Famagusta and Paphos a little way behind and Larnaca being the worst hit by lack of sales.

We believe once investors can actually see with their own eyes that major development is taking place in these areas sales will rapidly rise but while it is all talk and news reports interest is very sceptical and waiting in anticipation. The Limassol marina is already underway with construction clearly evident and sales are up?

2011 may however be a different story as the next years budgets has recently been announced and all we can say is there seems to be no room for error.  Government spending will be very low, in fact it will be the tightest budget Cyprus has seen in over a quarter of a Century, and recuperating finances may came from the rise of VAT and higher levels of tax charged on property, in effect rising markets prices and forcing fewer sales.

The property industry we feel are doing their part as in reducing prices, offering optional finance packages and at long last abiding by legal requirements as in title deed status, it is now up to the banks and the government to do their part.

Cyprus is on its way to becoming a tax efficient thriving business centre and better late than never, a property market offering safe investments. We still need to keep prices down, not only on the properties but the interest’s rates also. Everyone has to pitch in for this to work.

We once again reiterate from our last article we have 100% faith in our market, our economy, and our island quality of life and this will by no means falter.

Lawyers in Cyprus – Review – Agia Sophia Church – 1st October 2010.

Because the restoration of the ‘Great Agia Sophia Church’ situated in Istanbul, Turkey is an issue so very close to our hearts, we are joining in the plea for all Orthodox and Christian followers to register there signatures, in a bid to collect 1,000,00 as per request of the European Union Parliament.

Once 1,000,000 signatures have been collected the EU Parliament will then make the restoration of the Agia Sophia Church and its use as a place of Christian worship once again, an added prerequisite for Turkey’s admission in to the European Union.

This is a frustrating issue for all Christian followers and it breaks our hearts that at present the great church has been neglected and used by Turkish Muslims as nothing more than a market place and museum for tourists.

There is no saying if Turkey will be admitted into the European Union but if this should happen we for one would like the Agia Sophia Church to be a part of the deal.

You can register your vote by following the link www.hagiasophiablog.com

This must be a world-wide effort so we urge everyone to email and text their friends and family and get the word out there.  All Christian followers must visit the link and register today.

This is your chance to really do something worthwhile for all Christian followers, even if your faith is not your priority or you do not practice your religion your signature will count so we urge you to help.

Once again the link to this very important cause is www.hagiasophiablog.com Do your part in saving the Great Agia Sophia Church, do this for your ancestors, your fellow Christian neighbour and for the future generations to come and for yourself.

Cyprus Property Lawyers – Review – Larnaca Marina – Completed on 26th July 2010.

Larnaca Marina is reportedly one of the biggest developments on the Cyprus Island taking place today.

Agia Napa. Paphos and Limassol Marinas are very close behind, but with a whooping one billion Euros being put into the Larnaca Marina by private investors, this development is set to be the king of all developments.

What is very interesting is that for many years it was very clear that the existing marina was in desperate need for improvement, but nobody was actually interested in taking on the project.  However, with such growth and high demand for marina lifestyle in Cyprus and property, the private financial sector has definitely seen the potential in this kind of development.

The new Marina will consist of up to a thousand births for boating vessels and surrounding areas will entail luxury new hotels and villas.

The old Larnaca port will be upgraded and then expanded to make the marina one of the largest on the island.  In return, allowing large cruise ships to dock at the Marina which has not been possible until now.

The new Marina will enable Larnaca not only a buzzing and thriving yachting destination and tourist centre but also an international commerce centre offering the maximum potential for major shipping trade.

Each Marina in each coastal town is going to help our economy in so many different ways, such as the property markets, employment and business revival.

This month we are covering a lot on the up and coming new Marinas. This new trend has taken the island by storm and we are ecstatic to be apart of this.

As established International Property Lawyers we are here to help with all property and yachting law requirements and we will definitely be on top of all progression being made on each marina and inform our readers in the first instance.

Cyprus Legal Consultants – Analyzes – New Fractional Finance on 12th February 2010.

New Fractional Ownership finance has been introduced in to European Fractional developments.

Fractional Property Ownership is continuously growing but tools to enforce the concept have been very scarce. There has been no European Fractional finance to cover this kind of lending. However, with new growing market trends new finance will be readily more available to accommodate these trends.

Initially, completed projects and developments that have secured start up costs will enjoy guaranteed fractional finance. Unsecure developments can also benefit from fractional finance but will be under more scrutiny and consideration.

Cyprus developments have benefited from the fractional finance and we hope that it will become more readily available in order for fractional ownership to really grow and take off in the Cyprus Property Sector.

Lack of finance has been a main concern along with marketing the Fractional Ownership product.  Practicing as Cyprus Property Lawyers and already in a position to represent fractional Ownership investors, we are keeping our fingers crossed and hope that Fractional Ownership will now rocket sky high, especially if the Cypriot Banking System can really move on this issue.

If you require information or services on your Fractional Ownership investment please visit us at www.lawcyprus.org

Cyprus Law Offices study – Euro Exchange Rate – Conducted on 18th February 2010.

January 2010 saw the Euro exchange rate rise to 1.15. We have not seen this rate in a very long time. It has been reported that many UK investors have exchanged there sterling currency while the going is good, in order for them to invest it in European property.

The UK economy is getting back on track which has definitely helped the exchange rate, but Europe’s poor economy is still holding them back for now, although this fluctuation of the Euro is said to be related with the Greek financial instability.

Confidence in overseas property markets are still not 100% restored and European countries must take great efforts to lure investors back.

As we previously reported the UK nationals saw the low Euro exchange rate as the norm, so this increase in rate is definitely a bonus to the UK.

The Euro is said to reach 1.22 by the end of 2010 and we hope this will bring overseas investors back, not only to us in Cyprus but to all of Europe.

We have had a bumpy ride with the Euro rate, which in hand has put Europe to the very back of peoples mind.  We pray that we will once again see the 1.20-1.22 Euro exchange rate for Europe and for us in Cyprus who has so much to offer the overseas investor.
