Following on from our January 2010 Newsletter, we are writing to you today to update you regarding the Upcoming Bank Holidays and a new product which we feel it might be good for some of you out there.
For all of you who are living in the UK at the moment we would like to inform you regarding the upcoming bank holidays and Easter holidays in Cyprus. Thursday 25th March 2010 is a public holiday to celebrate Greek Independence Day. There will be a parade and celebrations. It is traditional to eat Fish on the 25th of March, as the majority of Cypriots are Fasting (for lent). The 25th of March is also the name day of Mary and gives a second reason for celebrations. On this day, families and friends will get together and celebrate and rejoice both of these occasions.
Easter Sunday in Cyprus this year falls on 4th April 2010. The 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th of April are Bank Holidays. Of course the 1st of April is April Fools Day but the 1st of April is also Cyprus National Day and this day marks the start of the EOKA rebellion for Cyprus to obtain independence from Great Britain. The 2nd of April is Good Friday. The 5th of April is Easter Monday and the 6th of April is Easter Tuesday.
