What is a Minor Road Accident?

- No injuries have been sustained by any person involved.
- Police attendance is not required.
- The vehicles involved remain roadworthy and can be driven safely.
- It is safe to move the vehicles away from the roadway.
What You Should Do
If all of the above conditions are met, please follow these steps:
- Contact Accident Assistance
Before moving your vehicle, contact your Accident Assistance service for guidance and support.
- Record Information and Gather Evidence
Collect and record all relevant details, including:
- Drivers’ names and contact information
- Vehicle registration details
- Insurance policy numbers
- Driving license numbers
- Passenger details (where applicable)
You should also take photographs or videos of the vehicles, the accident scene, and any visible damage.
- Move Your Vehicle to a Safe Location
Under the law, you are required to move your vehicle to a safe location off the roadway when it is safe to do so.
This will:
- Help prevent traffic congestion
- Reduce the risk of further accidents
- Improve the safety of all road users
Once relocated, remain at the safe location and await further assistance or instructions.
When This Procedure Does Not Apply
Do not move your vehicle if:
