G KOUZALIS LLC would like to give you the below advice when signing a power of attorney for use in Cyprus at a Cypriot Embassy / Consulate.  As we have previously mentioned to you, when you appoint someone to represent you in Cyprus using a power of attorney, it is VITAL that you sign and certify the document correctly.

If you do not sign it and certify it correctly then it could create numerous issues for you and may mean you have to repeat the process.

Firstly, you should ensure that your details are correct. (SPELLING OF NAME. PASSPORT / IDENTITY DOCUMENTS & ADDRESS).

Then you should print the document and you can arrange to sign the document at your local Cypriot Embassy / Consulate. This option, (as an alternative to signing in the presence of a notary and then arranging to apostille the document) is often easier, faster and cheaper. The reason for this is that documents signed at the Cyprus Embassy / Consulate are not required to be apostiled. This is a saving of approximately 50 Pounds sterling.

Signing at a local CYPRUS EMBASSY/ CONSULATE.

The below link is to the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs website and if you use the dropdown link and select your country it will give you the options of the embassies, high commissions, and consulates in your country. You then need to arrange to sign the document in their presence. The cost for certification varies and you should enquire locally.
