If you are buying or selling a car in Cyprus, in order to buy, or sell this to the new owner, you need to arrange the transfer of ownership document.
In order to transfer the car to the new owner, the first thing is that the new owner needs to arrange insurance of the car into their name. Once the insurance has been obtained the new owner will receive a cover note.
The cover note along with your identity documents (residency documents or passport) should then be taken with the ‘logbook’ of the car to either:
- The ministry of transport
- The citizen’s service centre
And yourself and the current owner should attend the offices as above and proceed to transfer the document and pay the appropriate fees and you will receive the new logbook in your name.
